My dads Secret BEST Italian Bolognese RECEIPE

For those of you who don't know my dad is the best chef in the world. Here is his famous receipe.

2 lb lean sirloin or choice ground beef
1lb Italian sausage

Half cup of minced carrot & celery
One large onion
4-5 large garlic cloves

Two 22oz cans of whole peeled tomatoes
Two 22oz cans of tomato sauce
1-2 small cans of tomato paste
1-2 cans of water

4 piles of oregano
2piles do basil
Salt to taste - pepper to taste

First, get the pan super hot on high and brown your meat. Place aside.

Second, put all of your tomato product in tall sauce pan and add spices and veg. Mixture. I bring the sauce to a boil then mash the tomatoes with a manual masher (see photo below)

Third, add meat/sausage mixture and simmer for 2-3 hours. That's Amore!

Shopping Cart Cover for babies and Target carts :)

Like any new mom, Target was my biggest obsession and outting during the week. Well, of course there are too many GERMS on those carts so I decided to throw together some fabric and blankets I had at home and sew a shopping cart cover that fit those target carts. This was two fleece blankets that I got as gifts for Stella. I cut out leg holes and sewed a big zig zag stitch all the way around the holes and also sewed the pieces together. I am not doing a tutorial, there are way to many already on line. My favorite three words... Just google it.

Light & Dark Pink Alternating Colors TUTU skirt for toddlers

This was made for my daughter for a little photo shoot we had in the house! The First one is solid dark pink tutu and the second is alternating pink colors tutu. I fell in love with sewing and making girley things for her so much that I decided to start my own online shop! It will be on Etsy and is opening soon! Stay Tuned....

MINI CRIB BUMBER YELLOW SOFT PLUSH MATERIAL WITH WHITE POLKADOTS ON THE INSIDE

Well, I tried to look for crib bumpers for a mini crib. We got a free DaVinci mini crib from my mom but Stella would always lose her pacifiers and also get her legs stuck! I could not find one ANYWHERE! So, I decided to make this! Total Cost: $30

Reupholstered Rocking Chair with a matching ottoman... A Blue, Green, Yellow, & Gray design.

Here is a rocking chair that I got for free from a friend. It was super flat and nasty so I decided to re-upholster and add new foam to it. It also came with arm cushions, but before I got it my mom tried to wash them and they were ruined. Total Cost: $60.00

Pink & Green Flowered Cotton Toddlers Dress with Matching Bow

Here is Stella modeling a cotton pink and green flowered dress with sparkles in the fabric and a matching bow.

Italian Buttercream Vanilla Cake By my Dad

This was my birthday cake this year! What a fabulous year its been. Our daughter was born this year :) My dad made this cake, he is a fabulous pastry chef at the Hilton Chicago.

Chocolate Cake with Italian Buttercream and Chocolate Ganache

I loved this one! It was a chocolate cake with an italian buttercream frosting. I poured a chocolate ganache over and decorated the top~! This one was for Mandy one of my co-workers!

Manly Birthday Cake

This one was made for my hubby for his birthday...

1st birthday Heart Cake (Valentines Day and Heart Themed Cake)

This one was her "smash cake. Both are funfetti cakes because my husband loves funfetti :) The smash cake (above) is a single layer with an italian buttercream.

This cake is a double layered funfetti cake we made into a shape of a heart and then I used WILTONS SUGAR SHEETS to cut out the polka dots and placed them over the pink colored italian buttercream frosting. Then I piped happy 1st birthday Stella. What  a fabulous day it was! Thanks to my dad, mom, and husband for all of their help with the party!

Leopard Cake and Zebra Cake Going Away Cake...

This is a yellow butter cake with a salted caramel Frosting inside!!

Then I rolled out and covered it with fondant...

The dots are done with a brown food coloring and gold bronze dust mixed with vodka and painted on with a pastry brush.

Then I took a dark pigmented brown gel food coloring and mixed with vodka as well to paint around the leopard spots.

Just adding some chocolate candies attached with a buttercream piping. PS. There are wooden sticks stuck inside the bottom cake to make sure it does not sink. (Also the round cake on top has card board underneath. The bottom cake is a double layer chocolate fudge cake with an oreo buttercream center.
